I’ve had a number of calls recently regarding the Connect to Computer option missing from Remote Web Workplace on Small Business Server 2008.
In each case the client has been using a computer with IE 11 installed. The solution to the problem is simple. Add the domain to the compatibility view.
Usually between Check Email and Internal Website there is a Connect to Computer option.
To get it back follow the instructions below.
Click the Cog in the top right hand corner and select Compatability View settings.
Enter the domain name of your SBS website.
Click Close. Logout and log back in to your SBS RWW website, Connect to Computer should now be visible again.

Having this problem but I am trying to log in from a computer running Windows 10. There is no cog. Do you have any thoughts?
Why do Microsoft have to make life so difficult, if only they put some thought into their software. Thanks to google I found this before spending more wasted hours of my life fighting Microsoft issues.
I did this and it is still not showing up. When I have connected with other computers, ActiveX pops up or something asking about which computer to connect to. How do I do this? I have done everything (well, at least all but one thing!) Please help! Working at home is an option only when I get this connected!
Thanks.
I am on ie11. my site is in compatibility mode as a website. it does nothing. I am operating windows 8.1. I am not sure what else you would need. Thanks!

Thankfully I googled and his was the first post to come up, read and sorted in 5 minutes. I was expecting a long wait until my tech support Team in Canada (8hrs time difference) came on line. Thanks alot for taking the time to post this!
