How to move Windows 10 Sticky Notes from one user profile to another

Windows 10

This is a very quick post on how to move Windows 10 Sticky Notes from on user profile to another. This will be useful if you are moving from a local to a domain account, changing computers. Or just want to give someone else a copy of your Sticky Notes.

Browse to the following path, you may not see the Appdata folder if you are browsing to it in File Explorer because it might be hidden, if you don’t see it, just type the path name and Windows should auto-complete it for you.

Change the username for you login name.

Once you are in the LocalState folder, copy the plum.sqlite file to the same location in the new user profile, then open Sticky Notes, and you should see all the notes you had in the previous user profile.

I copied this file (plum.sqlite) from one profile to another at least 4 times. Unsuccessfully. I couldn’t see what I was doing wrong, as I was following your exact instructions step by step.
Then I thought, why don’t I copy the other files related to the Sticky notes too, ie. plum.sqlite-shm and plum.sqlite-wal.
    Well, guess what! That worked!!
